Roxanne Arnal, O.D.
Optometrist

Dr. Roxanne Arnal graduated from the University of Winnipeg in 1990 with Bachelor of Science majoring in Chemistry. After that she spent one more year in Winnipeg doing biology and physics in order to enter the Optometry program at the University of Waterloo where she graduated with her Doctor of Optometry in 1995. That year she returned to Winnipeg to practice with her former optometrist for a year and a half. During that time Dr. Arnal also worked at the CNIB Low Vision Clinic. Dr. Arnal and her husband, Ken, moved to Wainwright January 31, 1997 to join her mentor, Dr. John Baker. After only 4 months, Dr. Arnal decided to purchase the entire practice!

Dr. Arnal spent 3 years at the Centre for Contact Lens Research while in school and did a final year project studying the effects of contact lens wear on tear film thickness. In addition to her research work, Dr. Arnal has also lectured nurses at the CNIB on optics, optometric assistants on anatomy and physiology of the eye, and the community on low vision aids, macular degeneration and diabetes.

At the 2004 Alberta Association of Optometrists convention in Calgary, Dr. Arnal was elected as the association President, after having served 5 years on council.

In May 2004, Prairie Vision Centre moved to their current location at the corner of Main Street and 5th Avenue. Dr. Arnal is very pleased to finally have the office of her dreams and a great team to complement her skills!
